Version 0.3.5 released
Command & Conquer for Atari ST » Devlog
Release 0.3.5 is out — another performance update: cheaper redraw, faster pathfinding, and a few 68000 costs that added up.
What's improved?
- Redraw. CCR dropped the per-cell overlappers list and extra In_View tests; Lock/Unlock on the hidden page is now a no-op; health bars no longer transparent.
- Pathfinding. Left/right edge-follow now locksteps by path length. Biggest win on AI-heavy maps, where degenerate cases could cause delays of several frames. Overlap bits were wrong on 68000.
- Audio. YM-2149 / PCM mixing is cheaper.
- Input. USB mice supported.
Performance win: about 19% on 8 MHz STe with sound (3.83 fps), 13–19% on plain ST, 15% on Falcon, 14% on TT.
On NOD1 (record2.bin, more AI) the STe quiet run is about 28% faster. See Benchmark.md.
How to play?
Download the new release zip and drop CNC.TOS over your 0.3.4 game folder — MIX data did not change.
Don't hesitate to report any problems. Command & Conquer for Atari ST is a work in progress.
Have fun! — Jonas

Those are improvements between 11 and 16%, which is quite nice! Thanks!
