Version 0.3.2 released
Command & Conquer for Atari ST » Devlog
Release 0.3.2 is out — another stability fix, plus a few compatibility improvements.
What's fixed?
- Menu crashes on some ST machines —some audio still performed GEMDOS calls from the VBL interrupt. This was mostly solved in the remix tool (leftover AUD now converted to AUDX and migrated to SOUNDS.MIX).
- Blitter selection — machines with a 68040+ CPU, or with TT-RAM available, use software blitting (faster than the hardware Blitter in those setups). This also removes Blitter cache-sync / address checks that could misbehave.
- Flickering cutscenes with acceleration boards which provide Alt-RAM below the 16MB mark.
- Score volume — the music volume setting in the sound options is honored now.
What's improved?
- Maintenance of the AI player's threat map is faster when units move within a cell.
- Missing CONQUER.INI — no longer logged as an error on a clean install.
How to play?
Download the new release zip and re-run the web-based remix tool — audio layout in the MIX files has changed since 0.3.1 (the crash fix depends on that remix). Extract the result onto your (emulated or real) Atari ST hard drive and run CNC.TOS.
Don't hesitate to report any problems. Command & Conquer for Atari ST is a work in progress.
Have fun!

Ran again on 4MB STE. No errors, crashes or issues and performance seems about the same as previous version here
